The visiting hours are non-stop, as it is an open public space. The best time to visit is at sunset, when the view over the city is spectacular. During winter, the area can be slippery due to snow or ice, so appropriate footwear is recommended. The area is well-lit at night, offering a romantic atmosphere. There are many places to sit and admire the view, including benches and grassy areas.

History

The history of Mont des Arts begins at the end of the 19th century, when King Leopold II initiated an urban redevelopment project. The area, previously a densely populated neighborhood, was demolished to make way for a public garden and cultural institutions. In 1910, a temporary garden was created for the World's Fair. After World War II, the area was rebuilt and redesigned under the direction of architect Jules Ghobert. The work was completed in 1969, resulting in the modern complex we see today. The project included the construction of the Royal Library, the National Archives, and the reorganization of the gardens, transforming the area into a cultural and artistic center of national importance.
