The easiest way to reach Hundertwasserhaus is by metro. Take the U3 line to Landstraße / Wien Mitte station, then walk about 400 meters. Alternatively, you can take tram 1 or O to the Hetzgasse stop. For those who prefer the bus, line 74A stops at Löwengasse, close to Hundertwasserhaus. If you're coming by car, there are some public parking lots in the area, but spaces are limited and can be expensive.

Hundertwasserhaus was built between 1983 and 1985, designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser in collaboration with architect Joseph Krawina. The idea stemmed from Hundertwasser's desire to create a building that would integrate harmoniously with nature and offer an alternative to modernist architecture, which he considered "rational, sterile, and dictatorial". Initially, the project was controversial, but over time it became one of Vienna's architectural symbols. This building marked a change in public perception of ecological architecture and urban design, influencing generations of architects and artists.
